Jim Buckmaster suddenly climbed out of his money pit for a little while to support legislation in Canada against human trafficking and help him screen ads better. Since this article, Canada has removed the Adult Section form Craigslist to follow what the United States has done.
Why did Buckmaster suddenly grow a heart? Well he didn’t, he is just like the pimps out there that use craigslist to traffic people, he’s worried about losing money. Thousands of arrests have been made off craigslist. Those arrests included trafficked immigrants and children. Hundreds of arrests have been made in Indianapolis and throughout Indiana. The larger states with lagers cities have made more. Complaints have been made for years to craigslist but they didn’t care until now. Mr. CEO knows his online ad machine and at this point, he can probably look at an ad and tell you if it’s a possible prostitution ad. I can and so can most cops that have worked these cases.
The prostitutes are still hiding on craigslist in casual encounters and therapeutic services. For example, unless it’s one of the few legitimate Asian massage parlors (I haven’t seen one yet). Craigslist is still a party to prostitution. The Chinese are the largest group trafficked and in therapeutic services, they hide. How he is going to screen those, I would be curious. Also, how is he going to make sure none of the girls are underage? Most of the time the picture of the Chinese girl is a stock photo. The John could be serviced by a girl that is underage and forced into this life. The more money they make, the closer they feel they are getting to pay off the debt the family owes back in China.
By the way, the traffickers of these women have them stay at the parlors and use it as a sleeping room. Or they are crammed into a house or apartment and not allowed to leave. If they do get to leave, it’s with an escort. The room or apartment they stay in doesn’t pay rent for itself so some of the money they make goes towards that food, and living essentials. There is usually a little store type area in the house for items like soap, shampoo, razors. That little bar of soap can cost each girl 20.00 dollars. See it’s about money and the longer these girls are kept in debt, they longer they get to service dirty butt men. Men that either want to be with an underage girl or since they are young and beautiful, they can just claim they didn’t know she was underage. These are the same types that pick up transvestite hookers and claim they didn’t know it was a man.
